A custom mica surface heater for heat press equipment that replaced the heating element on the existing product line.

The heater needed to have the lowest watt density while achieving even heat spread at high temperatures

It was important that it be durable and rugged  The heater needed to retrofit into existing equipment

Rapid heat up and cool down was important

Solutions and their Impact

Our custom surface heater acheived a higher quality of adhesion of the image to the surface.  Low watt density resulted in substantial increase in life of heater.  Reduced power consumption.  Our ribbon wound design performs better than etched foil in applications where the element needs to flex.
