Mica surface heaters are great for temperatures up to 1100F. They heat by conduction and need to be clamped tightly to the surfaces they are heating. We work with clients to recommend clamping / mounting arrangements which will maximize the excellent heat transfer efficiencies inherent in this product.

Our heaters help create a competitive advantage for our clients. Some of the following examples illustrate uses and merits of these custom heaters.

1. Laboratory Hot Plates - Clients needed surface temperatures up to 1100F and very even heat distribution. Our mica surface heater does this very effectively with long life at a reasonable cost.


2. Sealing Bar - Replaced an expensive machined block that had been bored for cartridge heaters. The mica heater is profiled for very even heat distribution (+-5F) across an entire bar. The thin mica heater is sandwiched and bolted between two plates.


3. Heat Transfer Presses - The thin mica heater is clamped to a plate and is profiled to give very even temperature distribution. We achieved a 50% improvement in temperature distribution over the cast-in tubular heater that was originally used. Performance increased and cost was reduced about 40%.


4. Food Steaming Cabinet - We assured even heat distribution to a pan by providing direct contact over 100% of the surface area. This mica heater replaced the tubular heaters because it mounted with less cost and didn't have hot spots. It also performed better and now gives a long life.
