Calculate the electrical power, flow rate or temperature requirement as follows:

SCFM = airflow in standard cubic feet per minute

ΔT = temperature rise in degrees F from the inlet to the exhaust

Watts = SCFM x ΔT/3

Fill in two values to determine the third.

Single Phase Unit

Line Current= Wattage / Voltage

Three Phase Unit

Line Current = Wattage / (Voltage * √3)

°F = ( ( ( °C * 9) / 5 ) + 32 )

°C = ( ( ( °F - 32) * 5 ) / 9 )

Farnam Heat Torches inline air heaters are ideal for rapidly heating air. Industrial strength open coil heaters provide efficient heat transfer through direct heating element contact with the airflow. Rapid heater response time enables precise output temperature control when these heaters are paired with off the shelf sensors and controllers. Robust design, high quality materials and workmanship provide long life and performance margin.

VIEW STANDARD HEAT TORCH ANIMATION

Our highly efficient Cool Touch™ option minimizes the skin temperature of the heater and helps protect people and product from hot surfaces. This very efficient design reduces heat losses.

The large thermal storage capacity is particularly useful if you have an application requiring intermittent use and rapid response. This Cool Touch™ option is available for many of our Heat Torch sizes.

Cool Touch Heat Torch™ 050

This 0.5" diameter heat torch is a compact and highly reliable process air heater for applications which require a modest amount of focused air ( 1 to 12 SCFM). Wattages up to 600 watts are accommodated in this package. In service applications including staking, curing, drying, heat-shrinking, sterilization, adhesive activation.

Cool Touch Heat Torch™ 150

Our 1.5" diameter heat torch is a robust air heating tool designed for high reliability, long life, and substantial air flow of 4.8 to 70 SCFM. Wattages can range from 500 - 5000 watts in this package. In service applications include sterilization, curing, drying, sealing, air scrubbing, and air knives.

Cool Touch Heat Torch™ 200

This 2" diameter heat torch is a robust air heating tool designed to satisfy the most demanding requirements. It heats air flow rates of 10 to 100 SCFM with watts capabilities up to 12500 watts. In service applications include heat treating, air scrubbing, heat cleaning, sterilization, curing, drying, heat shrinking, adhesive activation, air knives, sealing.
